Things are going to start cooling off soon. Are you ready? Of course not! But remember, as the air density rises, so does the horsepower. This Competition Corner takes us across the United States to check out the Fall foliage via driving camp, Jeep Jamboree, kart racing at the Sonoma Raceway, and even some throwback two-wheeling.
Tony Stewart Smoke Show Driving Camp
October 10th 2018 is your chance to head over to the Texas Motor Speedway and tear it up with none other than the man, the myth, the legend: Tony Stewart. The event is a full day driving camp instructed by the man himself. Attendees of the event will be provided with lunch and dinner, along with two ten-lap competitive sessions, one three-lap ride with Tony Stewart, and a victory lane celebration. Sure, tickets to the event do start at $6,000 but the proceeds are to benefit Speedway Children’s Charities. It’s a dream experience for those who attend and it doubles as a good deed (BONUS POINTS with the Big Guy upstairs, just sayin’). What else can you ask for?
Jeep Jamboree 5th Ozark Mountains
It’s no secret that the Ozark Mountains are one of the most beautiful, scenic mountain trails in America. So, what better way to experience this national wonder than by Jeep? Well, September 27th through the 29th is your chance to do just that.
Tickets to the Jeep Jamboree are available now; though before ordering, remember your rig will need to be hooked up with a CB and two-points. This is one of those family-owned and operated deals, so you know that you’re in for a wholesome, genuinely enthusiasm-powered event right in the heart of Arkansas. Sand Sports Super Show 2018
Who doesn’t love side by sides? As car and truck enthusiasts, we can all appreciate the style and function of these mighty tykes, even if we aren’t very familiar with that side of the industry. If you’re looking for an education though, the Sand Sports Super Show is just the opportunity to see how wild these machines can be. And just how great their fan base is! The event is presented by Nitto and is the biggest dune and dirt expo in the world. It runs from September 14th through the 16th at the OC Fair and Event Center in Costa Mesa, CA. We definitely don’t recommend missing out on this one.
Sonoma Raceway, 2018 Simraceway Arrive and Drive
What’s not to love about kart racing? They’re small, they’re light, and they’re fast. Even the toughest guys in the industry would love the chance to run a track in these awesome little machines. Arrive and Drive events give enthusiasts just that opportunity. Show up and drive in a full series with other competitive drivers.
Race 3 takes place at the Simraceway Driving Center at the Sonoma Raceway on August 25th. Tickets and rentals are still available at this point, so if you’re ready to tear it up in a kickass kart, follow the link!
Daytona Fall Cycle Scene
Fall is a bittersweet time of year. The countryside starts changing shades and we get to enjoy the cooler, dense air. Sure, we must wave goodbye to summer and park our favorite rides. But while our hotrods sit in the garage, preparing for yet another long winter, bikes will be on display at the Daytona Raceway. The Fall Cycle Scene consists of racing, demo rides, and live entertainment with some of the top vendors in the two-wheeler scene. Car guys and truck guys stand a chance to learn a thing or two about yet another complementary industry October 18th-21st. Gobbler Getter National Enduro
As car guys, we all experienced the painful 16 year waiting period to legally drive. To get by until then, many of us grew up tinkering with, building, and riding dirt bikes. The National Enduro gives those who ditched two wheels in favor of four, the opportunity to check out those who didn’t as they tear up some trails.
The National Enduro has stops all over the US, but the Gobbler Getter in Stanton, Alabama is scheduled perfectly for Turkey time on November 4. If you’re looking for an awesome event to get those nostalgic sparks flying check it out here!
