Transform Your Truck With Westin Side Steps

Looking to add safety and style to your ride without breaking the bank? With a well-rounded lineup, Westin’s side steps offer something for every type of truck. Whether you’re looking for something rugged and off-roady, functional and work-truck oriented, unique and attention-grabbing, or something that just offers a leg up with some style, Westin has you covered. They’re also backed by a competitive warranty, so it’s no surprise Westin is one of the most popular and reliable names in the biz.

Let’s take a closer look at the current lineup of step bars.

Outlaw Nerf Step Bars

Featuring rugged good looks and durable construction, Westin’s Outlaw Nerf Step Bars suit the needs of the avid off-road or overland enthusiast. Manufactured of 16-gauge steel surrounded by 2″ diameter tubing and sporting a coarse, dimpled step surface, these Westin side steps sit nice and tight against the rocker panels to ensure a solid fit and superb protection. An e-coated base coat promises to stand up to bad weather and hard use, while the company’s 3-year warranty takes care of any possible defects. To top it off, installation is easy, thanks to a simple bolt-on design.

Granting easier access to the cab via a slip-resistant step area while adding a little aggressive styling to your 4×4, the Outlaw Nerf Step Bars strike the perfect balance between form and function.

SG6 LED Running Boards

Offering safety, flare, and functionality, Westin’s SG6 LED Running Boards feature illuminated end caps which light up the step’s surface for safer vehicle access in the dark. The running boards also feature a slip-resistant textured surface, so you’ll have plenty of tread climbing into the truck in rainy, snowy, or muddy conditions. The construction of the SG6 is made to stand up against harsh weather conditions, boasting a polished aluminum finish and a protective anodized coating that shields against oxidation. The slick-looking black running board comes with a 5-year limited lifetime warranty too.

Outside of its safety and durability features, arguably one of the most impressive design elements are the built-in LEDs. When you open the truck doors, a set of magnetic switches activate the water-resistant lights, so there’s no extra work involved in illuminating the step area. Best of all,  there’s a rocker panel gap strip included giving your truck a sharp-looking setup.

Grate Steps Running Boards

Looking for a set of Westin side steps with a meaner tread that is more suited for hard work—all on a budget? Check out the company’s Grate Steps Running Boards. Sporting a 6 ¼” wide step surface marked by deep serrated edges and a high-punched tread, these steps will not only keep your cabin clean by offering a veritable boot scraper, but they’ll also look aggressive as all get-out.

Featuring a solid, one-piece construction with stylishly formed and fully-welded ends, plus a textured black finish, the Grate Steps Running Boards are built for messy worksites and rugged use. Ideal for construction vehicles, commercial trucks, and utility vans, these are also right at home on an off-road rig. So, if your work is your play (or vice versa), grab a set of these, and you’re sure to stand out.

HDX Drop Nerf Step Bars

You’ve met the HDX Xtreme Step Bars, now meet their more refined cousin, the HDX Drop Nerf Step Bars—plus all its siblings: HDX Drop Wheel-to-Wheel, HDX Stainless Drop, and HDX Stainless Drop Wheel to Wheel.

The HDX Drop Nerf Step Bars sport an excellent, rugged, off-road-ready design with a solid, one-piece construction that sits up nice and tight to the cab and offers die-stamped steel step areas for maximum traction. Like all other Westin side steps, these bars utilize a simple bolt-on installation. However, they also feature the company’s notched bar design, which allows for more than 2-inches of additional step area than competing brands.

Meanwhile, the HDX Drop Nerf Step Wheel-to-Wheel Bars offer all the same great features as their shorter counterpart. But, they add in the third step for easy bed access—compliments of the wheel-to-wheel length. With more significant space and added convenience, these Westin side steps are a nice upgrade for those seeking easier access to the cab and truck bed.

If you’re itching for something a little more stylish—that will really pop against your ride—the two above side steps also come in black powder-coated stainless steel versions that run in both cab length (HDX Stainless Drop Nerf Step Bars) or wheel-to-wheel (HDX Stainless Drop Wheel-to-Wheel Nerf Step Bars).

HDX Xtreme Nerf Step Bars

These chisel-styled, custom-fit bars offer another option in Westin’s Nerf Bar lineup. The HDX Xtreme Nerf Step Bars feature angled edges for a closer fit to the truck and feature the same sturdy one-piece construction as other HDX Nerf Bars. An oversized step area makes cab exit and entry easier. Plus, Westin built the treads with extra grooves to channel away water.

Installation is designed to be easier on these steps, too. They bolt on on to existing holes in a truck’s rocker panels for a no-drill installation. (Make sure to refer to the make/model menu on Westin’s site.) You can also pair these steps with HDX bumpers for a complementary look.

Pro Traxx Nerf Step Bars

For some extra grip getting into the truck, Westin’s Pro Traxx Nerf Step Bars offer saddle-mounted, textured step-pads with plenty of tread to scrape the mud off your boots after a long day of off-roading. The Pro Traxx line uses a 30-degree, OE-style bend and offers various lengths and diameters to meet different sizes of trucks and SUVs.

The bars come in two primary categories—Pro Traxx 4, which features a 4″ oval tube, and Pro Traxx 5 with a 5″ oval tube. There are also polished stainless steel or black powder-coated stainless steel finish options for the Pro Traxx line, so you can ensure it matches the overall look of your rig.

R5 and R7 Nerf Step Bars

The R series Nerf Step bars offer a sleek-looking but functional option if you need a board design that conceals brackets for a cleaner look. Built with corrosion-resistant materials, they boast an oversized step pad. Depending on which model you choose, you’ll either get a 5″ wide step pad with the R5 Nerf Step Bars or a 7″ wide area on the R7 Nerf Step Bars.

The polished stainless-steel version of the series is backed by a lifetime warranty, and the powder-coated aluminum version is supported by a 3-year warranty. For some additional customization, there’s also the option to add a corresponding light kit with the R5.

R5 M-Series Wheel-to-Wheel Nerf Step Bars

Westin’s R5 M-Series is a stylish option for a full-length, wheel-to-wheel step design. There’s a 5″ wide step area for easy truck access with three oversized, skid-resistant pads for easier truck access. The injection-molded bracket covers add to the overall sleek look of the design, and the package includes a third step for easy truck bed access.

The company has reduced freight costs with this one, too, since the modular design of the M-Series shaves shipping costs quite a bit.
