Rugged Ridge Interior Accessories Complete Your Off-Road Build
It’s no surprise most shoppers reach for the heavy hitters when it comes time to outfit that new Wrangler in the driveway. While it varies from build to build and person to person, the first five upgrades usually include some order of the following:
Wheels
Tires
Suspension
Bumpers
Winch
A super-sized lift and aggressive mud-terrains may get all the attention, but you can’t dismiss the impact of minor details, especially where you’ll be spending most of your time: the interior.
Rugged Ridge knows this. So, while they make bumpers, wheels, and racks that surely garner the ‘oohs’ and ‘ahhs’ you desire, they also offer a full lineup of interior accessories to round out the driving experience. These items may not be as sexy as the brand’s Spartacus bumper or AmFib snorkel, but let’s take a look at some interior products that truly ‘complete’ the build.
DASH MULTI-MOUNT (2018+ Wrangler JL)
I’ve had my current SUV for a decade and in those 10 years, I’ve gone through at least six different phone holders. Yes, six. I’ve tried the suction route, which was obtrusive, ugly, and a total waste. Then I opted for the vent mount route, which was always insecure and really heated up my handset in the winter. Yet another fail. Once, I even went the cup holder route, but since I only have two spots for my drink up front that was a trade-off I hated making. I currently have a mount that plugs into one of my blank switches, but it loosens up often, and isn’t really at an eye level that I’ve ever been comfortable with.
Needless to say, I’ve never been in love with any of these options.
Well, if you have a JL Wrangler, let me save you some time and hassle. The Rugged Ridge Dash Multi-Mount should be the first and last place you look. It screws front-and-center on the dash, replacing the factory recessed storage tray. That means, no finagling to find the perfect spot or angle because the Multi-Mount fits and looks like its OEM.
Not only can it secure today’s modern oversized smartphones, but also features attachments that mount your favorite trail-cam or GoPro – right where you’d want it – on the center of the dash. Let’s face it, the Wrangler doesn’t have the largest windshield real estate to begin with, so not having to mount it right to the glass provides both convenience and safety. Perhaps best of all, the wireless charging accessory means no unsightly dangling wires.
PARACORD GRAB HANDLES (Fits 2-3” Roll Bars)
“I’m not sure what to do with my hands”
Give your roll bars a unique and custom look with Rugged Ridge Paracord Grab Handles. (Such a name has a slightly better ring compared to “Oh Sh*t Bars,” which is what many of us call this accessory.)
These comfortable handles are constructed of durable 550 nylon parachute cords woven into the “Double Cobra” style knot, giving it a great feel in the hand. Available in Black/Black, Red/Black, or Grey/Black, these tactical beauties will make a statement whether you’re cruising the town or trail with the doors off. With fitment for 2 or 3-inch roll bars, Rugged Ridge has your JL covered.

Plus, that paracord construction does more than simply look fashionable. God forbid you find yourself in a dire situation, you can use it to hang equipment, start a fire, make a bow, or build a shelter. But let’s stay optimistic, Engine Block readers, and hope the most action they see is from a sweaty hand.
USB POWER CUP (Universal)
I don’t know about you, but even the most modern of vehicles never seems to have enough spots to power and charge all my devices. And when hauling around friends or family, is it just me or does it always seem like a few of them are asking to top-off? With the Rugged Ridge USB Power Cup, you get a charge, and you get a charge… EVERYBODY GETS A CHARGE. Rotating phones based on whose battery is the lowest is a thing of the past!

It’s a simple concept, but after a few trips you’ll find the Power Cup an indispensable part of your mobile adventure kit. The two USB ports safely charge two smaller devices, while the two 12V charging ports handle more power-hungry items such as GPS units, entertainment systems, and cameras.
Just plug it into your vehicle’s power port and throw it in the cup holder. The onboard DC power and amp indicator lights let you know the status of the unit with just a quick glance. And since it’s not fixed in place, just pop it out if you need an extra spot for that energy drink.
CREATE, MAINTAIN, PROTECT
Whenever we mention the folks over at Rugged Ridge, it’d be a disservice not to mention their great Trail Access Program. We took a more in-depth look at this program back in a 2019 article, but it continues to do great work year after year – and it’s now accepting 2021 grant applications.
For those not familiar, Rugged Ridge’s Trail Access Program contributes $5,000 grants to non-profit off-road organizations throughout the country. These groups then use the donations for education, stewardship, litigation, or other activities that promote or protect the conservation of public land and recreational trails.

The Trail Access Program was first announced back at SEMA 2013, and since then it has awarded over $160,000 in grant donations. It’s awesome to see that even after the company’s big acquisition by truck and 4×4 accessory giant Truck Hero back in late 2017, the program continues to grow. Really, it shouldn’t be a surprise, as the Trail Access Program slots right in with their big picture since Truck Hero heads up admirable philanthropic work of its own.
During a time when access to public land and trails seems to constantly be under siege from new legislation, this is a great way to fight for our rights as off-road and outdoor enthusiasts. If you or someone you know is part of a group that could benefit from the Trail Access Program, please head over to Rugged Ridge’s grant page and fill out an application.
The Engine Block is all-in on anything that will help preserve the ability to exercise our passion for generations to come. Tell them we sent you!
