2019 Car Show Season is Shaping Up to Be a Memorable One

Spring is finally upon us, which means the 2019 car show season is officially underway. We’ve searched high and low to put together a list of car shows, auctions, swap meets, and other automotive events that are well worth the drive. Now, let’s plan out a few months’ worth of automotive nirvana, shall we?

April 4-6: Mecum Auctions – Houston, TX

Let’s start this list with a familiar name: Mecum Auctions. Mecum has specialized in auctioning collectible cars for nearly 30 years, and they host events all around the US. From April 4-6, the NRG Center will hold the Mecum Auction in Houston, Texas.

You’re sure to see plenty of high-energy bidding wars and one-of-a-kind cars rolling across the auction block. Whether you’re going as a spectator or as a bidder, there’s something special for everyone at a Mecum event. Always bringing a unique offering of collector cars and vintage motorcycles, these auctions also display plenty of eclectic Road Art and memorabilia as well. April 11-13: Barrett-Jackson Auction – West Palm Beach, FL

Next on the list is another familiar name: Barrett-Jackson. The self-titled “World’s Greatest Collector Car Auction” is returning to the South Florida Fair Grounds in West Palm Beach for the 17th year, and this event is truly a world-class automotive extravaganza. Rub elbows with celebrities, gawk at (or bid on) your dream car, witness the excitement, and watch the passion erupt in a frenzy of bids. April 12-15: 1st Annual Gasparilla Concours d’Elegance – Tampa, FL

Those seeking a fancier event will find exactly that at the very first Concours d’Elegance. This upscale car show will take place on the banks of the Hillsborough River at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park in Tampa, with all proceeds benefiting Shriners Hospital for Children. April 24: Pomona Swap Meet & Classic Car Show – Pomona, CA

Those of you on the West Coast will want to check out the Pomona Swap Meet & Classic Car Show at the Fairplex in Pomona, California. Over 2,400 vendors will be presenting their hard-to-find car parts and accessories at tantalizingly low swap-meet prices. You’ll see thousands of original and restored Corvettes, Porsches, street rods, and Volkswagens, as well as classic cars on display and for sale. Find travel and ticket info, here.

April 20: Rusty Bones Car Club Monthly Cruise-In – Lebanon, MO

Our next stop is on the historic Route 66 in Lebanon, Missouri. Starting April 20, and continuing on every third Saturday through September 21, The Rusty Bones Car Club Monthly Cruise-In will take place at the Wrink’s Market just off of Route 66. Stop by this show and you’re sure to see an assortment of some of the best cars, trucks, and motorcycles the area has to offer. Stay up-to-date on the club’s happenings, here.

Starting April 20, and continuing on every third Saturday through September 21, The Rusty Bones Car Club Monthly Cruise-In will take place at the Wrink’s Market just off of Route 66.

April 20: KARS4KIDS Car and Motorcycle Show – Brentwood, TN

Also taking place April 20, is a great show for an even better cause. Organized by Music City AACA, the KARS4KIDS committee, and the children at TN Baptist Children’s Home (Brentwood Campus), this event is open to all makes and models of automobiles and motorcycles. They’ve even added classes for go-carts and model cars! We guarantee you’ll find something special here.

The focus of the event is three-fold:

  • Giving children at the TN Baptist Children’s Home a day of fun
  • Raising funds and public awareness of the home (all net proceeds go to The Tennessee Baptist Children’s Home, Brentwood Campus summer activities program
  • Giving everyone involved in the show a chance to relax, enjoy the sights, and have a good time

April 24-28: Spring Carlisle Collector Car Swap Meet, Corral, & Auction – Carlisle, PA

Our next event is a big one, and we mean BIG! It’s so big, in fact, that it was featured in a Fox News web article wherein it was recognized as one of the top five automotive flea markets in the world. Yes, in the WORLD, not just the US. Hosted by Hagerty Insurance, this 150-acre-large event will host up to 100,000 collector and classic car enthusiasts from all around the world.

Every year this event provides some of the coolest and rarest collectibles, parts, cars, and other automotive memorabilia. And don’t forget to check out the car auctions as well for a chance to see, or bid on, your dream car, truck, or motorcycle. It’s easy to see why people are willing to travel so far for an event like this—that’s what the 2019 car show season is all about! What’d’ya say? Are you in?

May 5: All British & European Car Day – Dallas, TX

This family-friendly (and dog-friendly) event takes place at White Rock Lake Park, Dreyfuss Club Point in Dallas, Texas. Bring your British or European car, micro car or bike, daily driver or show car, new or old, and compete for trophies in 15 classes. This is a vintage heritage show, so only vehicles 25 years old or older are eligible to win. All of the proceeds will benefit Shoes for Orphan Souls SOS, a humanitarian outreach program of Buckner International. They will also be accepting donations of NEW adult sized, closed toe shoes at the event. Another great show benefiting a great cause! Learn more here.

The All British & European Car Day makes our list of family-friendly events to see during the 2019 car show season.

May 11: “Where in the World is the Flippin Car Show” – Tompkinsville, KY

With a name like that, it’s got to be a great show, right? It’s the second year for this uniquely named car show, and all proceeds will be used to support the lifesaving community service work of the Flippin, Kentucky VFD. Awards will be offered for Top 50, Chiefs Choice, Judges Choice, Best in Show, and more. Come on down to Flippin Kentucky for a cool car show, great food, and some warm southern hospitality. May 17-18: Sedgwick Street Rodders Annual Spring Swap Meet – Hutchinson, KS

Those of you in the Midwest will want to check out the 6th Annual Spring Swap Meet. Taking place at the Kansas State fairgrounds in Hutchinson, Kansas, vendors will be on hand offering up a fine selection of car, truck, bicycle, and motorcycle parts. May 30-June 2: Inaugural Sonoma Speed Festival – Sonoma, CA

Rounding out our list is the Inaugural Sonoma Speed Festival in Sonoma, California. Attendees will be able to witness 10 invited groups of racers speeding around the Sonoma Raceway in cars spanning every era of automotive history.
