New Rugged Ridge JL Products Show Off Slam Dunk Styling

Established to fill the growing demand for new Jeep swag, as its parent company Omix-ADA was already leading the charge on replacement and restoration parts, Rugged Ridge has slowly but surely been carving out a sizable chunk of the aftermarket with its thousands of products. The company came about in 2005—good timing, as only two short years later, the Wrangler JK stepped into the limelight and saw the Jeep badge practically explode in renewed popularity.

Now, there’s a new Wrangler on the scene—and a new aftermarket powerhouse, as well. In October 2017, Omix ADA and Rugged Ridge joined Truck Hero, a rapidly expanding family of brands. And maybe it’s because they teamed up with a veritable empire or simply because the new JL stimulated some fresh inspo but, like, have you guys seen Rugged Ridge lately??

This team is killing it! Fresh aggressive designs and features so innovative most of them have been patented, Rugged Ridge is taking no prisoners when it comes to building brand cachet with some of the toughest enthusiasts out there. And thanks to a smashing show vehicle at SEMA, fans and forum goers are abuzz with praise for the new Rugged Ridge JL products.

“Seems like Rugged Ridge brought their A game… the tube doors, fenders, and snorkel are all fantastic designs.”

“Man, Rugged Ridge is batting close to 1000 here.”

“Rugged Ridge can take my money now—those bumpers are sweet!!!”

“I like the new tail light guards, and that snorkel? SEXY.”

“Rugged Ridge is going to kill my credit card. I need the sill and tail light guards, tube doors, and the multi mount. SMH.”

New Rugged Ridge JL Products – What’s Here, What’s Coming

Lucky for them, these products are steadily filtering onto the market. And lucky for you, we did the hard work of scouring the interwebs to find out when we can expect to see them.

But first, let us all bask in the glory of Rugged Ridge’s JL build for SEMA, because this one is a beauty.

Where to start, eh? Well, since trail season is upon us, how about those tube doors?

Rugged Ridge Front/Rear Tube Doors

Featuring a continuous-tube design and contoured latch plate, Rugged Ridge’s new JL tube doors add a little more adventure styling to your already off-road-ready Wrangler. Trail-proven 2-inch OD steel tubing ensures you stay inside the vehicle—as does the secure rotary latching mechanism which, BONUS, makes opening and closing said doors immensely easier. Everything is fully-welded for a rattle-free ride and no-compromise driving performance, and covered with a smooth powder coat finish for long-lasting protection.

The doors come fully assembled, with factory-style hinge pins for greater adjustability, guaranteed fitment, and a fast installation. And you can purchase them with or without matching mirrors to keep your ride legal. Sold in pairs and backed by an industry-leading five-year limited warranty, these doors are also priced right—starting at $477.76. Plus, they’ve been available for purchase since late last year, so you can find plenty of reviews and installation tips online. (Front with mirrors: Part#11509.15. Rugged Ridge Rear Taillight Protectors

Also available, are Rugged Ridge’s Elite Tail Light Guards (Part# 11226.12). Allowing you to safeguard your lights from bumps and blows along the trail, these high-quality cast aluminum shells also highlight the iconic shape that makes Jeep styling so special. With a cool geometric design that looks a little snazzier than your usual run-of-the-mill light guard, the Elite Guards still manage to blend in with OE styling, thanks to their clever 2-piece construction, concealed hardware, and premium powder coat finish.

Check out the Elite Euro Guard Headlight Kit too, (Part# 11230.21), if you’re interested in some front-end protection and styling upgrades. Tooled from the same powder-coated, high-grade aluminum as their taillight counterparts, these headlight guards feature a similar geometric design to help your rig stand out both on- and off-road.

Rugged Ridge JL Bumpers

While that rad bumper from the SEMA build isn’t available yet—according to forums, that won’t crop up until at least July—Rugged Ridge did release a new Arcus Stubby front bumper for the JL/JT this May. (That’s in addition to the Spartan Series and Spartacus Stamped Steel Bumpers released back in October.)

The Arcus Front Stubby Bumper for Wrangler JL and Gladiator JT (Part# 11549.04) features a patented design and stamped-steel body, using a high-strength 11-gauge steel shell surrounding a ¼-inch thick steel winch plate, capable of holding most model winches up to a 12,500-lb rating. It also comes standard with massive 1-inch thick recovery hooks that are cross-drilled for both 7/8″ and 3/4″ D-rings, as well as hi-lift jacking points and built-in fog light pockets that accept both factory Sport & Sahara fog light assemblies with no modification. Finished with a high-quality satin black powder coating for a clean look.

Pre-orders are currently open with Rugged Ridge expecting to ship this June. Keep an eye out for a soon-to-be-released over rider bar (Part# 11549.03), as can be seen on the left in the picture above.

Rugged Ridge JL Fender Trim/Marker Light Setup

I know, you’ve been waiting for this one—so have we. Unfortunately, we’ll be waiting a little longer as intel suggests these won’t be available until sometime this summer, likely June. Those seen on the SEMA build were a prototype, designed to gauge interest. Spoiler alert: That interest is HIGH. Spend some time hanging around the forums and you’ll find Jeep fans are going bananas over these.

According to rumors, the fender setup that’s coming soon won’t be entirely the same as the SEMA build, as Rugged Ridge had to do some extensive trimming to make those work. It’s suggested that a retrofit kit and plug-and-play LED will be released this summer, while a complete four fender kit with LED front will arrive later this year. Check out the video below (13:40 mark) for some more information on the design.

Rugged Ridge Modular Snorkel

Last but certainly not least—DAT SNORKEL. You’ll get some insight as to the design in that same video but overall, this should be modular just like the JK snorkels, capable of being run in either a low or high profile.

Rugged Ridge has also designed it to be incredibly easy to install, with no cutting necessary. This is also projected to arrive sometime during Summer 2019.

In the meantime…

While you wait for these sweet new Rugged Ridge JL products to arrive, check out some of the recent upgrades that are currently available, like these simple-but-effective hood catches (Part# 11210.21), and this heavy-duty all-terrain cargo liner (Part# 12975.52). Rugged Ridge also has attractive rocker guard/side step systems available like this super aggressive design (Part# 11651.61), this rock-crawling style (Part# 11504.36) and this clean, conventional tube step (Part# 11596.03).
