NEW Fab Fours Stubby Bumper for Jeep Purists on a Budget

Let’s get straight to the point—Fab Fours brought an incredible-looking 2020 Jeep Gladiator to the 2019 SEMA show, rocking a smorgasbord of exciting new accessories. Accessories that weren’t just fancy SEMA debuts, either. In fact, every single item on the Fab Fours Gladiator rig was available for purchase almost immediately after the show. And the one that currently has our attention? That great little JL/JT Stubby Bumper currently retailing for an unbelievably affordable $399.

Whaaatttt, you say, they aren’t going to make us wait an entire year, releasing little nibbles of information over social media and teasing us with pictures of half-baked prototypes? No. Fab Fours doesn’t have time for that nonsense, because these folks are literally too busy dreaming up fresh products that break the mold of traditional off-road design. And if you’re thinking that low price is too good to be true, we’d like to set the record straight on that as well—because not only is the new Fab Fours Stubby Bumper only $399, but it’s also PACKED with features.

“It’s a very popular style bumper—a little more hardcore, shows more tire, it’s really geared towards the trail wheeler,” says CEO and Fab Fours founder Greg Higgs. He admits the brand has neglected the stubby market in the past, as it’s a crowded space often driven by price point. But, after many requests and a desire to stick it to the inferior knock-offs, he and his team crafted a great design, reinforced it with a high-quality construction, and slapped an incredible price on it. “When we go into something, we go all in,” says Higgs. “So, we put our minds to it—Fab Fours approaching the stubby market—we have only one way we wanted to do it—the best!”

Meet the Fab Fours Stubby Bumper

The brand definitely delivered. An ultra-narrow design ensures maximum tire clearance, better trail navigation, and great approach angles, while tapered edges and the signature Fab Fours knife-edge design maintain an aggressive and capable-looking front end. The bumper is crafted from 3/16 steel, treated with an epoxy primer and then finished with a durable black powder coat. Premium welding inside and out guarantees it can stand up to even the roughest trails.

And speaking of rough trails, the Fab Fours Stubby Bumper comes ready for a top-mount winch, with an included winch plate. “When it comes to a stubby and a price-point-style bumper, a beauty of going top-mount is that if you have to buy the winch separately later, you have that as a choice and it doesn’t look empty,” explains Higgs. “When we have the recessed mount, you just have a cavity there. Ours comes with a plate included, so if you don’t run a winch, you’ve just got a nice, clean deck.”

Other features include an available tubular guard (pictured here), integrated D-rings and tow hooks, as well as integrated fog light housings that can run factory fogs or 3×3-inch aftermarket lights. Fab Fours even added in the appropriate holes to run a license plate based on state laws, “so really not overlooking anything,” adds Higgs. “It’s pretty cool to have all this integrated styling, the D-rings, all the shape, form, function, all 3/16ths, made at our facility in Lancaster; welded, powder-coated, everything in-house in the same line … packed with features, for $399. If somebody’s going to buy another stubby, I’d be shocked.”
