Fab Fours Overland Rack Maximizes Your Gladiator’s Storage Space With Aggressive Styling

Itching to take that new Jeep Gladiator to some exciting new places? Whether you’re heading to a nearby campground or way off the grid, Jeep’s exceptionally capable truck has you covered with front and rear Dana 44s, over 11 inches of ground clearance, great approach and departure angles and, of course, that most useful of all design features—a steel truck bed.

Great for lugging around big and bulky items, it’s bound to be a game-changer on future adventures. But why not maximize your cargo-carrying abilities and take advantage of all that empty space above the truck bed? With the new Fab Fours Overland Rack, you can secure everything from your tent and food to recovery gear and tools—with the solid construction and wild styling we’ve come to expect from the South Carolina-based brand.

On the off-chance you’re not yet familiar with Fab Fours, they’re the fabricating wizards behind the Grumper and ViCowl accessories that took the Jeep market by storm several years back. They’re also the folks behind the #40sNoLift –a revolutionary DIY open-fender system.

And did we mention they’re also one of the largest aftermarket bumper manufacturers in the world?  This is a company that takes big and bold design chances and consistently hits the mark.

With that in mind, it’s safe to say that the new Fab Fours Overland Rack isn’t some run-of-the-mill roof rack.

Solid Steel Construction

Built from tough 12-gauge steel and stainless-steel hardware, it’s more than capable of standing up to heavy loads and your “spirited” driving habits. In fact, it supports up to 500 pounds with the 2 included cross-members, while only weighing about 200 pounds itself. (Additional cross members can be purchased separately, allowing you to make the deck as dense as you need to hold items like a rooftop tent, spare tire, tubs, etc…)

Measuring 27” high, 61” wide, and 60” long, the whole unit is finished with a 2-stage matte black powder coat to protect it from chipping, scratching, fading, and corroding. And for those who want to double the storage capacity to include the cab roof, Fab Fours also makes an adaptable and expandable rack extension (pictured above) that features A-pillar mounts and adapter brackets so you can clip it to a ViCowl window surround, should you wish to complete the look.

Versatility Galore

Whether you opt for the partial or full-length rack, you still get an insane amount of potential for organizing and securing all your gear. Multiple mounting points and tie downs, as well as 10 integrated pod mounts ensure you can easily attach Jerry Cans, hi-lifts, tools, auxiliary lights, and more, in order to build the rack that’s right for you.

“We know in that overlanding community, whatever you get is really the canvas, it’s not necessarily the finished product,” says Greg Higgs, owner and CEO of Fab Fours. “There’s a lot of after-modifications, even aftermarket parts and we’re happy to see that. So, let your imagination go wild: two clamps, extra holes, drill it where you need to, add what you want. That’s the cool thing about overlanding. You know the gear you want to carry. You’re gonna build the rig right for your purposes.”

The Fab Fours Overland Rack is not only a great foundation for customization, it’s also a great literal foundation for a rooftop tent.

While elevated tents aren’t for everybody, they are a useful contraption when you find yourself in need of dry, bug/critter-free sleeping accommodations. Obviously, the quality of your tent will determine how comfortable the time spent inside it is. But more important is the quality of that roof rack, since it’s meant to hold you, your tent, and your gear—even during windy and rainy weather. (Not exactly the area where you want to be cutting corners to save a buck.)

Complementary Accessories

An unavoidable problem with car top tents is access. Luckily, Fab Fours solves this with its new full protection rear bumper. Designed to complement the new Overland Rack and Fender System, Fab Fours’ Jeep Gladiator Rear Bumper features double rung side steps built to hold the full weight of an average adult.

That means, in addition to providing body panel protection, light mounting, and integrated tow hooks and D-ring mounts, this bumper also serves as a sturdy perch when accessing rooftop cargo or setting up that new tent.

Constructed of 3/16″ heavy duty steel and 11-gauge steel plates, the new rear bumper sports the brand’s signature knife-edge design. Even cooler? It can be custom-coated for seamless color matching.

Looking for more capable Jeep Gladiator accessories? In addition to the Overland Rack and Rear Bumper, Fab Fours also just released new full-surround tube doors, an OEM light fender system, a base fender system, rock sliders, wheels and tires, and this hardcore stubby bumper that’s retailing for an unbelievably wallet-friendly $399. (Check in with the blog soon, as we’ll be doing a deep-dive product spotlight on this bumper.)

While the Fab Fours Overland Rack is not compatible with a tonneau cover, it does play well with a Cargo Glide or DECKED bed storage system. Read more about those products here and here.
