NEW Fab Fours Polaris SXS Bumpers Put A Fresh Face on Powersports
Fab Fours doesn’t go more than a few months without making a little noise in the industry. But this time, “the industry” may not be the one you’d expect. While the brand makes some remarkably engineered (and borderline insane) fender systems, rock sliders, doors, and accessory mounts, make no mistake—their bread and butter remain bumpers. Of course, until recently, they played strictly in the truck market. But as we all know, truck guys and gals like their toys. And one of their most popular toys just so happens to have four wheels… and a front bumper.
The UTV market has always had its fair share of accessories and, as of late, more ‘traditional’ aftermarket automotive suppliers have dipped their toes into the SXS realm. On paper it makes sense: miniaturize your truck offering and voila! New customers, new segment.

Numerous winch, lighting, wheel, and tire manufacturers have all dabbled in powersports with varying degrees of success, but the fact of the matter is that side-by-sides are not just baby Jeeps. And customers don’t necessarily want a hand-me-down truck product. They’re a wise bunch and know when a company doesn’t perform due research into their space. Rightfully so, they take issue with adopting a product or category they sense is an afterthought for a supplier… a cash grab.
The folks at Fab Fours know this. They know their potential and loyal clientele want something built from the dirt up, not a scaled down Wrangler bumper. They want something built exclusively for them. So, that’s what Fab Fours did with their new line of Polaris SXS front bumpers.
A Fresh Face For Your SXS
Fab Fours mastermind Greg Higgs attacked the new Polaris bumper line like he would any completely new project or application. Before putting pen to paper, he assessed the industry, consulted those with intimate knowledge, and spent ample time looking at the natural lines of the vehicle. “I sketched something crazy, it looked cool, and they said ‘yeah, there’s nothing like it.’”
And he’s right. Take a look at the aftermarket powersports bumper options and you’ll mostly find 3 styles:
- Big chunky units that clash with the overall cosmetics of the front end
- Simple tube units with a bull-bar type skid/brush plate
- More complex tubular kits with a roll-cage/exoskeleton design
Greg noticed the way the current SXS bumper landscape presented itself. “Most everything out there is simple tube, a little bit of plate in between.” And while some of the tube bumpers don’t look particularly bad, they don’t offer the protection, durability, or versatility of the beefier styles. And the chunkier options… well, they’re like slapping a pair of Groucho glasses on an otherwise attractive face.
After spending long hours perfecting the design and getting the fit and finish just right, Fab Fours presented their full-featured Polaris bumpers with good-looks-to-boot at SEMA 2019:

The most popular sport side-by-side in the world gets the Fab Fours treatment. Kick off that chunky plastic factory bumper and swap it out for some class.
Polaris RZR XP
If you’re a regular reader of The Engine Block or an auto enthusiast, chances are you’ve seen some of the wild and outlandish products that Fab Fours has brought to the table. In my opinion, nothing turns heads like a Jeep JK or Super Duty sporting a Grumper/ViCowl combination. It’s a tandem that even Mad Max might deem a bit too “over the top.”
But Fab Fours took a more tasteful route with their SXS Front Bumper for the Polaris RZR XP.
Its slim profile provides maximum tire clearance and keeps added weight to a minimum. And Fab Fours engineers took the time to not only perfect a high and tight fit, but also beautifully complement the RZR XP 1000’s angular geometric front-end design elements. It’s almost like they took the hexagonal grille shape of the RZR, flipped it upside-down and used that as a basis for design. So, you get a bumper that looks like it was Polaris-designed, but maintains those styling elements that took Fab Fours to the top of the bumper industry.
But don’t let the compact, stubby design fool you. This bumper has a full host of features side-by-side owners demand.
It’s winch-ready, and the top mount design makes install and access infinitely more convenient when compared to a lower, more enclosed housing (Warn AXON 25 recommended). Integrated shackle mounts keep towing and recovery safe and easy. Plus, a front and center cutout for 10” dual row light bars add to the utility. And along with great looks and function, the 11-gauge U.S. steel construction with 2-stage powder coating means your bumper can take anything that’s thrown its way.
Polaris General
If you’re looking for that perfect blend between work and play, the Polaris General is no doubt at the top of your list. It’s a great choice for those looking to get work done around the ranch but who still want a little sportiness from their side-by side. But while the stock General bumper doesn’t look bad, and it is winch compatible, there’s always room for improvement. And If you’re going to take the time, effort, and money to swap bumpers, make sure it’s going to look and perform exceptionally.
Enter Fab Fours. You’ve surely seen those aftermarket bumpers, whether on trucks or side-by-sides, whose manufacturers take no care in matching body lines. They’ve got mis-aligned fender blending, a Jay Leno chin, and overall poor fit and finish. It makes the vehicle look like they paid a visit to a two-bit cosmetic surgeon a day’s drive from Beverly Hills.
Not so with the Fab Fours General bumper.

The jawline they’ve created is a work of art. Its narrow design allows for some seriously beefy rubber for those looking to upgrade wheel and tire packages. And like all Fab Fours bumpers, versatility is king. Throw on shackles and a winch for those recovery situations (Warn AXON 45 recommended), mount a 10” light bar for dusk riding, and take solace knowing the 11-gauge steel and expertly welded construction will most likely outlive your General.
Polaris Ranger
For those of you seeking the business end of a UTV, the Ranger covers all bases. It’s the most trusted SXS for farmers, ranchers, hunters, and anyone who has a full laundry list of tasks to complete. Available in 2-seat, 3-seat, and crew configurations, the Ranger has options to accommodate you and your workforce or family.
To get the job done even more efficiently, Fab Fours’ SXS Ranger Front Bumper offers the ultimate utility, wrapped in an easy-to-install package.

Its low-profile construction yields unmatched tire clearance and allows easy access for a Warn AXON 45 winch (recommended). The knife-edge design keeps weight down, while still offering niceties like shackle mounts and a protected inset cutout to mount a dual-row 10” light bar.
All this with expertly full-welded manufacturing and the best price point in the industry. It may be aftermarket, but we think it looks like it came straight from the Polaris factory. Now go out and fix that fence on your property line.
Polaris RZR Pro XP
If performance and off-road capability is what you need in a SXS, the Polaris RZR Pro XP—SEMA’s 2019 Powersports Vehicle of the Year—can’t be matched. It’s the most powerful RZR Polaris has ever built. It possesses the most advanced suspension we’ve ever seen in the UTV market, and it’s downright gorgeous. Just look at those sharp, angular head and taillights! They wouldn’t look out of place on the most exotic of European supercars.
But as nice as they are, it isn’t the headlights that sell this SXS. It’s the strength of the chassis; the stout axles; the cooler clutching; the 14.5” of ground clearance. The overall relentless performance of this beast wins over even the most particular of critics. And to personalize the XP Pro even further, there are a slew of accessories to make sure it’s optimized for whatever you plan to tackle.
As far as front bumpers go, there certainly are A LOT of aftermarket tube-style bumpers to choose from. And, in general, we like tubular bumpers. But for such a modern aggressive design, we think there’s a better option. Really, Jeep and Subaru owners have been fitting garage-bent tubes to their builds for decades, why not go for something a bit more custom and contemporary? Fab Fours’ precision engineered SXS XP Pro front bumper has the style and features to match Polaris’ flagship RZR.

An ultra-narrow design provides maximum clearance and follows the lines of the front fascia perfectly. The winch-ready design (Warn AXON 45 recommended) and mounting options for multiple lighting configurations keep the party going when the trail bites back. You’ve got one of the most capable side-by-sides on the planet, shouldn’t you have a bumper to match?
Add Style & Utility with Fab Fours Polaris SXS Bumpers
While some manufacturers rest on their laurels and get complacent, we know Fab Fours as a brand never gets stuck on the ol’ hamster wheel. They’re a company that takes chances, rarely leaves a good idea on the cutting-room floor, and sets the bar for industry design. While some of their products certainly aren’t for the faint of heart, there’s no doubt that brands like Fab Fours test the limits of automotive engineering and force the hand of others in the market. They sure as heck could’ve “stayed in their lane” and stuck to the truck bumper script.
But while the advent of their new powersports offerings did raise an eyebrow or two here at The Engine Block, we’re not at all surprised they nailed it with these Polaris SXS bumper designs—because they do their homework.

So, what’s next? This upcoming decade is sure to bring some great ideas, radical designs, and of course, a few surprises. And whatever Fab Fours decides to take on, whether it’s a Vengeance bumper for the upcoming Bronco, or an Open Fender kit for the latest Segway, we’ll all sit up and take notice. Because while they may all have wheels, each application and customer are vastly different. From this reason alone, we can be certain Fab Fours will design and build it from the ground up.
