Competition Corner: March 2021 Auto Events Put A Spring In Your Step

For many, March rolling in means we’re out of the woods. There might still be plenty of snow to go around, but there’s also no shortage of auto events to keep your spirits high! True, some big-name draws have been bumped from the schedule this year. The Mint 400 is moving to December and the Easter Jeep Safari seems trapped in a will-they-or-won’t-they with county commissioners. (Last we read, they will. EJS 2021 is scheduled to run Saturday, March 27 – Sunday, April 4.)

These hiccups are nothing to take lightly, as they serve to remind us that we’re still on shaky ground, even with the return to life appearing on the horizon. But in the spirit of Competition Corner, we want to stay positive and fill you in on all the March 2021 auto events you can attend. (Or at least tune into!)

27th Annual NMRA Spring Break Shootout

Spring Break might look a little different this year as far as binge drinking and beach parties are concerned. Thankfully, the NMRA still blasts into the 2021 season this March 4-7 at the Bradenton Motorsports Park in Bradenton, Florida.

Daytona Bike Week

Who can resist the appeal of a high-powered engine that’s only burdened by a motorcycle frame? Not many – and Daytona Bike Week serves as ample proof. Each year, thousands of riders gather from around the country to celebrate their love for two-wheelers at the world’s largest motorcycle event.

AMALIE Motor Oil NHRA Gatornationals

Bike Week isn’t the only reason to get a jump on summer by heading down south. March 11-14 the jaw-dropping, eardrum busting, pavement burning AMALIE NHRA Gatornationals hits the historic Gainesville Raceway.

This event is no joke – boasting everything from street cars to alcohol-powered spark plug-melting machines. Plus, this is the first time in NHRA history that a season starts in Gainesville. 11th LMC Truck Spring Lone Star Nationals

Good news, guys – Goodguys events are still running strong!

The 11th LMC Truck Spring Lone Star Nationals kicks off the season March 12-14 at the Texas Motor Speedway in Fort Worth. Not only will there be over 2,000 sweet rides to ogle, a Nitro Thunderfest Dragster Exhibition, Burn Out Competition, and a good ol’ autocross, but organizers also added a new Ultimate Truck Showcase for 2021. SVRA Charlotte SpeedTour

What’s better than breaking out a classic car and tearing up a historic race track? If your answer is “uh… nothing,” then you need to check out this event.

The SVRA will take to NASCAR’s home track – the Charlotte Motor Speedway – March 18-21 where competitors have access to the main course, the “roval” course, and a four-lane drag strip. Rally in the 100 Acre Wood

Rally racing is probably one of the most under-rated forms of motorsports out there. These drivers push the limits further than most would ever dream, charging over loose terrain at ridiculous speeds.

Running March 19-20, The Rally in the 100 Acre Wood collects the legends of the segment, where they lay it all on the line over a total of 102 competitive miles. Unfortunately, no spectators may attend the 2021 event, but everything you need to get up to speed on this showdown is right here!

Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale

Rescheduled from its traditional January date, the 2021 Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction is just around the corner. Running March 20-27, the live event promises a fantastic docket of collector cars including a 2018 Ford GT ’67 Heritage Edition with less than 20 miles, one of the last ten 1965 Shelby GT350s produced, and the very first production example of the 2021 Ram TRX (VIN #001).

BITD: 2021 All Terrain Concepts UTV Legends Championship

Remember when UTVs were simple pieces of farm equipment? If you’re ready to see how nutty these rigs have become, you need to watch them shoot it out in Laughlin, NV, during the BITD UTV Legends Championship March 25-28.

2021 World Of Wheels Events

Being in the world of muscle cars means you’re likely familiar with World of Wheels. These are regarded as some of the best auto shows in existence and draw in thousands of people each year. This March 26-28, both the MaxMotive Pittsburgh show and the O’Reilly Auto Parts Kansas City show are set to go down.
