Mecum Auctions: Kansas City, MO

One of the best ways to beat the winter blues is by fantasizing about our dream cars. Mecum is the world leader in live auctions. They showcase everything from vintage cars to auto culture memorabilia. These events regularly feature some of the rarest, coolest, and flat-out most attractive classic and collector rides in the world. On December 6th, the final Mecum Auto Auction begins in Kansas City, Missouri. Tickets are available here and viewers can tune in to NBCSN to watch the event from home.

33rd Annual Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals

Held in Tulsa, Oklahoma, this midget car racing event is affectionately known as The Chili Bowl, and as the event’s website points out, it’s “racing’s winter answer to football’s Super Bowl.” The 2019 Nationals take place roughly two weeks after Christmas—just as winter really begins to dig in its claws. As of November 18, the event had 91 entries from 73 municipalities, 21 states, and 2 countries with 13 A-feature starters, 13 rookies, and 1 champion.

In addition to a packed schedule of exciting race coverage, there is also a trade show with over 100 vendors. The 2019 Lucas Oil Chili Bowl Nationals run from January 14-19 at the Tulsa Expo Raceway. For those who can’t attend, online coverage can be found here.

The 2019 King of The Hammers runs from February 1-9 in Johnson Valley, California, with the actual race taking place on the 8th. Potential spectators and contenders can find out a little bit more about the wild western event here.
