On the Ball
The centerpiece of the Tuff Country 4″ Titan lift kit is the replacement upper control arm. Using Uni-ball replacement upper arms combined with strut spacers raises the XD enough to fit 33″ tires. More importantly, front end geometry is maintained, reducing wear and providing a factory-like ride. Even better is that the installation does not require drilling that sweet new truck of yours. A 2″ kit without control arms is also available, and can still clear 33s with minor trimming. Both kits provide a more level stance as well as increased height.
Exercise Your Shock Options
In making a 4″ kit for the XD that was a killer value, Tuff Country gives the buyer a choice regarding shock absorbers. Part number 54050 comes with extensions for the rear shock absorbers so that they can be retained. Consumers wanting aftermarket performance shocks, can purchase part number 54051KN. This kit comes with Tuff Country SX8000 nitrogen gas shocks. If however you wish to have a Fox, Bilstein or other manufacturer’s shock, opt for shock-less kit #54051. All three kits retain the front factory struts. The 2″ kits are sold exactly the same way, and add a hydraulic shock option.
