NEW Products from Body Armor 4×4 for Off-Road Adventures
In the search for quality, one Jeep enthusiast realized that if you want something done right, you do it yourself. That resourcefulness launched Body Armor 4×4 – now a renowned off-road brand of Jeep, truck, and SUV accessories.
While Body Armor has rounded out its product lineup to include steps, racks, suspension, and overlanding equipment, the company built its name on bumpers. The Desert and HiLine series have quickly become immensely popular with late-model Tacoma owners, offering a variety of fits and accessory mounting options. The Eco Series serves the American full-size and Super Duty crowds with lightweight construction and an aggressive style, unique for each application. And with bumper pricing hundreds below the competition, you won’t feel guilty splurging for both the front and rear set.
But with the introduction of the fourth-gen Silverado 1500 and fifth-gen RAM 1500 in 2019, Body Armor went to work on a new bumper combination for the new decade…
AMBUSH Series Bumpers
2019-2020 Chevy Silverado 1500 and 2019-2020 RAM 1500
The redesign for the Silverado was certainly polarizing. That squared-off front end with sharp horizontal lines divided the bow-tie faithful. Even if you’re a fan of the new face, it’s evident that getting an aftermarket bumper to match might be a tough task.
The Body Armor team did a marvelous job matching the Silverado’s unique grille and turn signal silhouette, creating a seamless profile that looks factory-fitted. The AMBUSH front bumper fits snug up against the distinct fender transition of the Silverado, which certainly took more than a little creative engineering.

The new RAM 1500 has a bit of a more traditional front-end design with its own styling cues. So, while the feature set of both applications are similar, the Silverado and RAM AMBUSH bumpers are completely unique—the way it should be. And speaking of features, the AMBUSH Series certainly doesn’t skimp.
Quality Construction, Stand-Out Features, Competitive Pricing
Body Armor upgraded the 1/8” steel used on its ECO Series bumpers to 3/16” and 1/4″ for maximum protection. The new two-stage lightly-textured finish provides durability while better matching the style of modern pickups. And illumination options are plenty, with the front and center cutout allowing for dual-row 30” light-bars flanked by a pair of cube cutouts. Welded D-ring mounts add a pulling point for additional recovery functionality.
Each of these AMBUSH Series front bumpers is matched by an equally over-engineered rear bumper. Featuring the same flush and custom fit as their front counterparts, they carry over the same sturdy 3/16” and 1/4” cold-roll steel construction. Cube light mounts and additional D-rings also feature on the rear AMBUSH. Plus, OE sensor compatibility means that you lose none of the baked-in safety and back-up function of your new Chevy or RAM.

At under $850 a piece, there may not be a better bumper deal in the marketplace. Look for Body Armor to expand the AMBUSH Series with applications for the F-150, F-250, and 2500/3500 Silverado and RAM in the first half of 2021.
Subaru Lift Kits
We mentioned a bit earlier that Body Armor has expanded beyond the tubular game. One area where the company has really flexed its muscle is in the realm of leveling kits. It makes sense – a nice set of bumpers or side steps just don’t look quite right on a stock-height suspension.
Body Armor has a lineup of over 65 suspension kits to give your popular 4×4 a tasteful, economical ground clearance option, while keeping factory ride manners. Most applications allow for what we’re all craving: Larger wheels and up to 35” tires.
The latest leveling applications may not make enough room for 35s, but Subarus deserve a little lifted love as well. Whether you treat yourself to a little dirt and rock every now and again, or you’re a full-fledged overlanding aficionado, Body Armor can make your Subie a bit more capable. Better yet, the company devoted its focus on not one, but THREE applications.

2019-2020 Forester
The redesigned Forester has really come a long way from its “mature” look of previous generations. The 19/20 facelift gives it quite a spritely look – especially the red-orange accents of the sport trim. Its competition, such as the RAV4 and CR-V, are becoming more popular among the small 4×4 off-road community. With a Body Armor leveling kit, you can take your late-model Forester off the pavement with confidence, while still maintaining a polite ride.

2015-2019 Outback
Still the flagship Subaru, the Outback continues the fight to keep wagons cool. With plenty of cargo room and passenger space, it’s been the poster child of the anti-SUV crowd for decades. And right from the dealer lot… it’s just about as capable as any of the small SUVs you’ll find on the market. Add a Body Armor leveling kit and this outdoor legend can tackle even tougher terrain.
