Brand Spotlight: Pypes Puts the “P” in Performance

Since 2002, Pypes Performance Exhaust has been a leading manufacturer of exhaust products for American performance vehicles dating from the 1950s to present day. The company offers a wide range of mandrel-bent exhaust systems, x-pipes, mufflers, electric cutouts, manifold down pipes, and restoration-quality tips for classic and modern muscle cars, gas and diesel trucks, as well as Jeeps.

According to the company website, “The simple fact is that a mandrel-bent exhaust system will flow twice as efficiently as a compression-bent system, and we all know that efficient flow is one of the main ingredients of power. [Most] complete systems include a x-pipe, pair of mufflers, set of tailpipes, and all of the clamps and hangers required to install the system.”

In addition, all exhaust components are 100% stainless steel. The company made the decision to price its high-quality products at an aluminized steel price point. “Stainless steel will outlast aluminized steel. So, Pypes Performance Exhaust represents a much better value for the price,” said Joe Gallen, National Accounts Manager for the company. “We produce a diverse product line with excellent quality, aggressive pricing, and a lifetime warranty. So, our product is sure to exceed the expectations of even the most demanding customer,” he added.

Among the new products offered by Pypes Performance Exhaust, a 3” Super System for 2011-2017 Ford Mustangs, long-tube header kits that complement the new Super System, and a 3” axle-back muffler delete system with special resonated tips.

A Little Teamwork

“We are excited to add Pypes Performance Exhaust to the Keystone portfolio. With this addition, we are able to provide our customers with another economical option for high quality 304 stainless steel exhaust systems, as well as those of the 409 stainless steel variety,” said Keith Evanosky, Category Manager at Keystone Automotive. “The addition of the Pypes brand is one more step in our commitment to becoming a one-stop-shop exhaust warehouse for our customers,” continued Evanosky.

Furthermore, the team at Pypes Performance Exhaust is eager to expand the reach and distribution of its product line with Keystone’s ability to provide customers with next-day delivery in all 48 continental U.S. States and nine provinces across Canada. 1936 Rolls Royce Rat Rod

A wild project, this Rat Rod build was completed by father-son duo Derek and Sam Hard of HardUp Garage in the UK, along with their team Street Toys, located in Mexico. The guys took second place at the Rat Rod Build-Off competition at the 2016 SEMA show. Check out the video below to learn more about this amazing build. And don’t forget to look for the modified Pypes Performance Exhaust headers and electric cutout.

Thomas Crown Affair Movie Mustang: Redux

This 1968 Mustang drop-top was transformed to look like the iconic 1967 GT 500 from an otherwise forgettable movie—the 1999 Thomas Crown Affair remake. Retrofitted with modern parts to satisfy the owner’s request for the car function as a daily driver, the Mustang Redux also received a Pypes Performance Exhaust system that, according to FourWheeler, allows the ride to “cackle like a cartoon witch”. This ride proves that imitation is the highest form of flattery with the signature roll cage, extra-tall tires, spare tire, and a truly lush interior.

Oddball Drag Racer: 1980 Volvo Bertone

Pypes Performance Exhaust is also a proud sponsor of World Champion drag racer Victor Ellinger. Driving an unexpected 1980 Volvo Bertone with a 440 Mopar and 3.5” Pypes Race Pros & 3.5″ Xpipe, Ellinger won the IHRA Summit SuperSeries, running the 1/8 mile in 6.383 seconds at 108.50 mph. If Pypes can do that for an 80s Volvo, what can it do for you?
