BBK Performance Hits SEMA 2019 with New Black Billet Series

If you’ve got a late-model truck or muscle car, BBK Performance is your brand. Why? Because the company has everything you need in terms of bolt-on air flow to make for some serious gains in performance, drivability, and even fuel economy. BBK consistently updates and introduces new product to best serve its intended market, meaning year after year, no matter what Detroit turns out, you can count on them.

And 2020 is no exception—BBK Performance hit SEMA 2019 with some exciting new inventory, including its impressive new Black Billet Series throttle bodies.

BBK Black Billet Series

Constructed of a tough CNC billet aluminum (a first for the brand), the BBK Black Billet Series improve throttle response and acceleration by increasing airflow and adding more horsepower and torque to the wheels. They feature a simple bolt-on design, putting installation around 30 minutes, and are currently available for new Ford Raptor, Hellcat and HEMI applications, as well as V6 Pentastar engines.

Designed and manufactured in the USA, they also sport an attractive black anodized finish with CNC-machine BBK logo and come complete with all factory-style electronics.

The 73mm Black Billet Series throttle body for the 2017 and up Ford Raptor can help you squeeze 8-15 more horsepower out of a 3.5L EcoBoost with the right boost and tune. (The 100mm throttle body for 2015-19 Dodge 6.2 HEMI V8 Hellcat Applications offers 20+ depending on boost and tune!)

The stock Raptor throttle body sits at about 68mm, meaning BBK’s direct bolt-on replacement offers roughly 30% better flow with boost. Watch the step-by-step install below.

BBK notes that about 90% of the Black Billet throttle bodies are 50-state emissions legal, though you’ll have to determine what’s what for where you live.

Other Recent Additions from BBK

BBK has also expanded its Roto-molded high-flow air intakes, with one of the more notable applications recently introduced being the 2016-2020 Camaro SS.

Offering between 12-18 horsepower gains depending on application, this Black Series Cold Air Intake features high-quality polymer intake tubes and a custom air shroud that bolts directly in place. This allows for improved throttle response, as well as a stress-free, 30-minute installation. Made in the USA, it also incorporates a high-flow washable cotton element filter for maximum flow. Great look with no tune required!

Another new product joining the BBK lineup are the brand’s 2011-14 Ford F150 5.0L Coyote Long Tube Exhaust Headers.

Offering up to 25 additional rear wheel horsepower, BBK’s long tube exhaust headers are available in polished silver ceramic or 304 stainless steel and promise to unleash your truck’s full potential while adding an incredible throaty exhaust note. They use a direct bolt-on design to keep installation simple and are built to work with a factory tune.

Check out the video below for a detailed run-down of what this new kit offers, as well as the premium engineering that went into its design.

BBK Performance also offers a direct bolt-on 85mm Power Plus throttle body, as well as a cold air intake for this same vehicle that will add additional performance and increased airflow.

BBK Oil Separator Kits

While not a new addition, BBK’s oil separators deserve a shout-out. A known product in the diesel community, oil separators are building popularity in gas applications for the protection they offer to intake and combustion chambers.

In a gasoline engine, air from the crankcase is reintroduced to the intake to burn off any left over fuel from the combustion cycle that may have leaked past the piston rings. This cycle has its flaws, as oil can flow through to the intake as well. The buildup of these deposits over time draw down horsepower, reduce economy, and even shorten the life of the internal parts.

An oil separator simply works to pull oil from the air on its way from the crankcase to the engine. It’s a super simple upgrade that can easily be done at home. And while the performance gains aren’t anything you’re going to feel in the seat up front, as the engine ages the addition of this unit will only ensure it keeps you firmly planted in your seat when you bash the throttle.

BBK has been producing these units for some time and continue to introduce new applications to the line. (They recently added the 1999-2004 Ford Mustang GT, 2010-2015 and 2016 – 2019 Chevy Camaro SS V8, and all 2005-2019 Challenger, Charger 6.1L/6.4L applications.)

CNC-machined from solid billet aluminum, the oil collection tank features a knurled base for easy removal to drain the captured oil and an O-ring seal to prevent leaks. A high efficiency, multi-stage filter system collects the very fine oil vapor droplets and deposits them into the easily-removable bottom, ensuring only clean, oil-free air is able to pass through into the intake.

About BBK Performance

Founded in 1988, BBK (which stands for “Brian, Barry, and Ken”—the three men responsible for getting the business off the ground) cut its teeth producing power-potent solutions for the newly fuel-injected Camaros and Mustangs of the era. (At that time, other aftermarket manufacturers were still battling it out with carbureted applications.)

Since then, these guys have continued to feverishly pursue the goal of providing fuel-injected muscle cars with performance upgrades that overcome the limits of factory equipment. Every year, application extensions and new product lines join the company’s output, including throttle bodies, air intakes, exhaust, and more.
